G-RIZE BIO

In the Age of Information, news media faces both unprecedented opportunities and significant challenges.

Hello, everyone and welcome to my life. My name is Augustus Cole Jr. Aka

G-Rize. I was born in west Africa in the beautiful city of Monrovia Liberia. In 2003 I was blessed to come to the United States with my family, we now reside in Minnesota. My Mother that I love with all my heart passed away soon after I came to the States. The memory of my mother drives and inspires me every day in my life and music. Since her passing I continue to grow in my education through graduating high school and advancing on to college classes.

I started dancing and singing at the age of 7, My passion was in dancing, at my young age I thought singing was for girls! Later, I joined a dance group called 3T’s and then Dark Moon when I was in Liberia. Watching me as a young boy my grandmother always thought of me as a star and believes that I am and will be a star. One day she called me in, and she said “I have a name for you! G-Rize you are our family’s star!” I Laughed at it then, but the name stuck! I am G-RIZE. She continues to believe in me, recognizing my hard work and dedication towards my dreams.

In my life I have always felt that if you can dream it, you can achieve it. My dream is to entertain the world and put a smile on people’s faces. I will continue to work on my skills as a singer and work to get better every day to make my dream come true! I am not trying to please everyone and even if my music touches one person’s soul I will be happy! Nothing worth having is easy, believe me this is worth having and I will never stop until the world can hear my music and dance to my voice!

My Goals!

My first goal is to be successful and gain more knowledge as I grow in this music industry and as a man. I want to put together a positive sound that can touch a lot of people throughout the world. With God will, I will be fortunate enough to go back to my country Liberia in west Africa and help out the less fortunate people by building hospitals, schools, playgrounds for the youth, and also touch so many people lives in so many different ways. I want to be a positive roll model to the youth around the world especially the people in my country. My goal is to show them if you believe and work hard towards anything in this world, you can achieve it. My long-term goal is to introduce positive things of my country Liberia to the world and hopefully spare more positive energy through Africa and bring people together.

 My Achievements!

As my achievements I was blessed enough to open up for one of the biggest artists from my continuity (Africa Nigeria) P-Square. I was grateful because I grew up listening to them as a kid and looking up to them as a role model. I performed at my country award show, which is the Liberia Entertainment awards, I did that twice in a row (2011) and (2012) which I won best music video of the year for one of my songs. I cherish those moments because I was the youngest artist to win it. It felt good performing and being accepted by my country. 2012 I also perform at the MTV Panama city spring break. That was such a rush for me performing in front of so many people. That was also a blessing coming from Africa and watching it on T.V. to being there and performing live. It was like a dream come true. I work very hard and have done multiple shows around the US. I also when out to New York in 2011 to audition for BET Wild out Wednesday. although I didn’t receive a call back, but it still felt good to be there performing my music for different audiences and going through that experience. All through these years I have grown a lot and travel all over the United State doing shows and winning awards. I came from nothing so now that I have two kids, I never want my kids to go through what I when through in life. I want to spire a lot of youth out there so they can see me achieving my dreams and know that they can do the same. I saw my parents working so hard to provide for our family so because of that I keep in mind that hard work does pay off.
