Nasibu Sareva: The Twin Cities’ Financial Trailblazer Changes Lives of Immigrants

Having a vision for changing your life and thereby the world is one thing. Bringing it to reality is another.

Establishing a life in a new country comes with wild hurdles for any immigrant. But especially for African immigrants who come to the United States, creating a life that will allow their families for generations to thrive may seem insurmountable.

That’s why Nasibu Sareva, a financial trailblazer who cracked the code to building generational wealth for immigrants, has dedicated his career to helping African immigrants in the Twin Cities achieve just that.

Sareva was raised by his grandparents in Tanzania alongside 20+ kids all under one roof. Growing up in this communal space cultivated Sareva’s drive to support those in his community. With this in mind, in 2000, Sareva immigrated to the United States intending to further his education in accounting and finance. After earning his Bachelor of Arts and MBA in Accounting, his consulting career flourished. Now that he laid the groundwork for his career, Sareva sought to create a deeper impact in his community. Ultimately, he joined the non-profit organization African Development Center (ADC) in Minneapolis, serving as the CEO.

Sareva has held onto this role for over 16 years so far, and he’s witnessed the transformations the organization sparks in people’s personal, financial, and business lives.

Mr. Sareva was awarded a certificate of completion for the NeighborWorks Excellence Program, August 2016 – January 2018, John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Executive Education.
